Information & IT Service Reconfiguration
There are many pressures for the development of information
management and IT services in health and social care
organisations. In the NHS there are obvious impacts on capacity
and skills from the National Programmes for IT, but the service
modernisation agenda is also changing the underlying needs of
organisations both at an operational level, in how agencies work
together and use information, and at a corporate level in the
redesign and commissioning of services. There are also
efficiency pressures for the rationalisation of IT services
along with other back office functions across the public sector
and beyond.
Service re-configuration and development that will support
these changes need to be explored, in particular to enable the
most effective use of skills in the face of increasing demand.
We have experience of managing the evaluation and implementation
process for large scale information management and IT service
re-configuration and development, including setting up Health
Informatics Services in Surrey and Merseyside. We can provide
help with:
- Options assessment and scoping of information management
functions
- Consultation with stakeholder groups
- Designing new governance structures
- Planning and managing transfer to new service
organisations
- Developing service level agreements.
