Programme Management for Local Health Communities

Ensuring that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts

Local Health Communities (LHC) and individual Trusts are implementing huge ICT agendas. The NPfIT (being implemented by Connecting for Health, CfH) has instigated a raft of projects around the implementation of choose and book, the registration authority, N3, and EPR solutions.  For most LHCs and Trusts these come on top of already urgent projects addressing local imperatives and initiatives.

Individual projects are managed through PRINCE2, which helps to ensure their success. But where there are many interdependent projects, then, there is an additional need to manage the whole programme of projects through a Programme Management approach.
